VS

Trailer of the film:
synopsis of the book:

"Originally we were nine. We left when we were very young, almost as young as not to remember. Almost. And now ... three are gone. We are here to keep our race, that is almost extinct. Just trying to survive. Remaining six. But we hunted and the hunters will not stop until we have killed them all. Caught up to number one in Malaysia. The number two in England. At number three in Kenya. I am the Number Four. I'm next. "

duel begins!
1 - Trama
John Smith is the new identity of Number Four, one of nine men who escaped the attack on their planet Mogadorianos, Lorien. Four and their patron, Henri are forced to flee their homes to go to one again because John has received a new flag that indicates that the number three is dead and is as follows. At the beginning of the movie the story is very faithful to the book except for some details, which will undoubtedly see that they are to decorate: as the race with watercraft and the incredible leap in the air. However, as the film progresses are changing some things like that dinner at Sarah's house (in the book I relate to Thanksgiving) and that to go around breaking the lights with her fists xD However, the film makes some changes are for the better and others worse.
2 - Atmosphere
The setting of the film is well achieved as it is not an adaptation in which must appear a fantasy world or something similar. I'm the number four is set in Paradise, a small town Ohio to my taste the reflected to perfection. The institute and the house also liked me, perfectly capture the essence of the book. But without doubt, the best have been recreated in the film have been Mogadorianos, whose appearance gives true terror. The special effects are also very good, showing us very well as are the powers of the inhabitants of Lorien.
3 - Characters
Number Four - John Smith (Alex Pettyfer): Number Four is the protagonist of this story, in which he and his patron Henri, fleeing to continue mogadorianos alive. In the book, our protagonist is 15 years (that does not appear at any time of the novel) and the movie we can see that Alex Pettyfer is not exactly a 15. Removing that little detail of age, Alex performed very well the role of the protagonist: his love for Sarah, the anger he feels when they attack in the woods, his friendship with Sam ... Another small detail that made me much grace in the film is the relationship between Henri-taaaaaaaan John is not good as the book.
Number Six (Teresa Palmer): If it's character Number Six in the book I liked in the film through the work of Teresa has tripled. She embodies the character to perfection, making all safe, strong and with that cockiness that creates this character so special.
Sarah (Dianna Agron) and Sam (Callan McAuliffe): When I first saw the trailer for the movie I was surprised to see Dianna Agron out of Glee and the truth is that I was glad to see her in a movie because many Sometimes we tend to pigeonhole actors for the roles they play. But his performance did not seem like no big deal, since the character of Sarah never called undue attention. Callan McAuliffe However Sam does it perfectly. Lacked only one thing: the spectacle of his father.
I also liked the interpretation of J ake Abel and Mark and the Timothy Oliphant as Henri , but in fact the character that I loved the movie was Bernie Kosar. It's a nice little dog!
4 - Winner
Finally the winner of this fight is ... The book! The film is great and I recommend you to see but read the book before because you can not miss details of Lorien and the views of John.
This is my opinion. But ... What is yours?
